́...the enlistment of Negroes (other than for mess attendants) leads to disruptive and undermining conditions."

-Special Committee to the Secretary of the Navy

Dec. 24, 1941

How soon we forget.

Fifty years ago, U.S. military leaders fought tooth and nail against the desegregation of the armed forces. They said no white man would want to fight next to a black man, take a shower next to a black man, be in a foxhole next to a black man or take orders from a black man.

Today, these same hateful arguments are being made against lesbians and gay men.

They were wrong then and they're wrong now.

Lesbians and gay men have served faithfully and honorably in the military ever since men and women have defended this country. The time has come to recognize their service and extend the same liberties and freedom due every American.

Those who preach discrimination are currently flooding Washington D.C. with their message of ignorance and hate. They are pressuring the Congress and the Joint Chiefs of Staff to fight President Clinton and his

commitment to ending the ban on

If you care about equality, if you value justice, if you want to end all forms of discrimination: Speak out!

Call Washington now and tell our political leaders that you support President Clinton and his resolve to end military discrimination.
